ICO - what is it? The meaning of a word, definition, origin, translation

ICO is an English abbreviation from the world of crypto-currencies , which stands for "Initial Coin Offering" , which in Russian means "Primary Offer of Coins". This procedure is launched when issuing a new crypto currency, which involves selling "tokens" and then exchanging them for new currency coins. The purpose of the ICO is to attract investors, so that they can buy out more tokens at a higher price.

ICO is somewhat similar to IPO (initial public offering of shares of the company), however, not one crypto currency, unlike real firms, does not imply the creation of any product and the receipt of surplus value. In this sense, all crypto-currencies are something like MMM shares, where the value is actually created from the air.
